OVERVIEW
Separation of dry materials according to magnetic susceptibility, exploiting either paramagnetic or diamagnetic properties. More than 3.5 times the magnetic separating force of the Isodynamic® separator, as well as improved particle feed and transport systems. The actual separation can be observed since the separating region is not hidden by the equipment. | |
Since 1935 a unique and outstanding research tool for the mineral investigator. Separates dry granular materials according to their magnetic susceptibilities. Used at geological and mineralogical laboratories worldwide, having set the standard for such separations. |
FRANTZ
An accessory used with either model LB-1 or L-1, providing the conditions required for separating ferromagnetic materials according to differences in their magnetic properties. It is connected in the coil circuit of the separator and comprises means for reversing the direction of the coil current; sensing a zero field condition in the separator's working space; adjusting and monitoring the current from zero to about 100 milliamperes; and for pulsing the current at selected frequencies between approximately 3 and 35 Hertz and amplitude from zero to about 90 milliamperes. |

Frantz®
Canister Separator
Provides a bench top high gradient, high intensity magnetic separator for processing liquid suspensions of fine particles. With the regulated power supply the magnetic field strength in the empty separating chamber is variable from 0 to approximately 15,500 - 16,000 Gauss. The operation of the equipment is economical due to the small gap in the magnetic circuit in which the canister is placed. Air-cooled coils provide the necessary ampere turns. The equipment cost is particularly low for owners of either model L-1 or LB-1 separators, since the model L1-CN shares the same base, magnet assembly and power supply. |
